Crumpet

Crumpet biscuits are very much preferred by Albanians. Small and tasty, they can be easily prepared at home for your loved ones. Below we bring you the Chef's version of this recipe so fond and full of memories.

Main Ingredient: butter, flour, sugar, eggs

250 grams of butter

500 gr of flour

150 gr of sugar

2 egg yolks

1/2 cup of cognac coffee

2 oranges skins

100 grams of almonds

50 gr walnuts

1 tablespoon vanilla coffee

50 ml of rose water

One batch of confectionery or 1/2 tablespoon baking soda

500 gr powdered sugar

Directions

Step 1Transfer to a grease-free pan and set on low heat for a few minutes.

Step 2In a mixer mix sugar and butter on medium speed for 5 minutes. Add the almonds, nuts, sugar, vanilla, eggs, orange peel and finally the flour, previously passed into a sieve.

Step 3Place the mixed mass in an open bowl. We start to form small pellets. Lightly press them by hand and place them in a casserole, 3-4 cm apart.

Step 4Place the pan in the oven by selecting the ventilation and temperature 175 minutes. Bake for 18-20 minutes (depending on the oven).

Step 5Remove the pan from the oven and leave to rest for 1 minute.

Step 6Sprinkle rose water with the cognac and sprinkle it over the crumpet. Then dip them in powdered sugar and they are ready to taste!
